As one of Australia’s leading luxury labels, CAMILLA has just accelerated its sustainability journey, with the announcement of a new rental destination, powered by GlamCorner. Available to customers right across Australia, the CAMILLA rental platform can now be accessed online via camilla.glamcorner.com.au.

We have reached a critical turning point in the contemporary fashion landscape and CAMILLA recognises that the circular economy is key to reducing textile waste. So this latest sustainability initiative aims to help address a harmful culture of disposable fashion – in which the average Australian discards an estimated 23 kilograms of clothing per year.

“Australians are the second-highest consumers of textiles per capita in the world, which means we naturally contribute higher amounts to textile waste,” explains GlamCorner Co-Founder and COO Audrey Khaing-Jones. “At GlamCorner we want to revolutionise the way we consume fashion through rental. Our partnership with CAMILLA shows that consumers can still enjoy beautifully designed and high-quality garments, while supporting the circular economy and helping to reduce fashion waste.”

About the Partnership

Powered by GlamCorner’s streamlined click to rent technology, the new CAMILLA rental destination features dozens of the brand’s most iconic styles from both new and previous collections – like SS19 Mother, which drew inspiration from Mother Nature and Australia’s diverse natural landscape. By making these pieces available to rent, the new CAMILLA platform will help Australian customers access high quality designer fashion in a more sustainable way moving forward.

“Our partnership with GlamCorner perfectly aligns with our brand’s vision to become a more conscious retailer and serve the shifting values of our customer base,” says CAMILLA CEO Jane McNally. “It is an important step towards reducing the impact unused clothes have on our planet and giving consumers a more accessible entry point to the brand. We’re excited to continue exploring the innovative ways we can Colour the World in CAMILLA.”

As a market leader in fashion rental, GlamCorner seeks to accelerate the transition to a more circular economy, by powering Australian retailers through rental. Which acts as a key driver of the circular fashion economy today, because it keeps clothing in use for longer – thus reducing the amount of textile waste being sent into landfill every year. So this latest designer partnership represents a positive step for Australian fashion, because it signals strong sustainability momentum within the local industry.

“This partnership signifies CAMILLA’s ongoing commitment to providing sustainable and accessible solutions to fashion lovers and we are very proud to power this and accelerate their sustainability journey,” Khaing-Jones says of the initiative.

How Does Renting Work?

Powered by GlamCorner’s cutting edge logistics, the new CAMILLA rental platform will make the brand’s iconic garments available to rent for 4-8 days. And these will be shipped out with a free Australia Post Express Return satchel, to facilitate ease of returns. With strict quality control in place when it comes to cleaning and garment care, GlamCorner will support this revolutionary new fashion destination to help prolong the life of CAMILLA garments in the rental life cycle.

One of the first of its kind, the CAMILLA x GlamCorner partnership offers an affordable solution for women to access an endless wardrobe of designer pieces, while helping to reduce the number of clothes being bought and worn for one off occasions. Customers nationwide can now access the CAMILLA rental platform, to help support the circular economy and work towards a more sustainable future for Australian fashion.
