Charity Gala Dress Rental in Adelaide – Customer Story

Our lovely customer Michaela needed something beautiful for her Charity Gala Ball in Adelaide and as this was her first formal event since having a baby, she definitely wanted to wear something special without breaking the bank! Michaela chose to hire our stunning Thurley ‘Aria Maxi’ Dress, a floor-length number in classic black with a beaded bodice. Read more about her rental experience below:

Tell us about the special occasion you had and why you wanted to wear a designer dress for it?

I hired the Aria Maxi for the Paper Crane Gala Ball (a Charity Gala to raise funds for the Childhood Cancer association). A couple of our close friends helped to organise it, so it was especially important that I looked the part in a beautiful dress! It was also the first event I’d been to since having a baby, so I wanted to wear something special.

What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?

As a new mum, there are only a few occasions where I’ll have a chance to wear a formal gown again so hiring was a perfect option for me. Besides, I’d rather wear something new and different to my next event… it’s much more exciting! I love putting together a new look around each dress I wear.

Tell us about the dress and the designer label you chose, and why you chose it?

I chose to hire the Aria Maxi Dress by Thurley. I have always loved wearing Australian designers. Thurley’s designs are always gorgeous and glamorous but still have a fashion-forward edge. Plus I adore the lace and beautiful fabrics they use.

Have you rented a dress before or was this your first time?

This was my second time renting a dress, and it certainly won’t be the last! It gives you the chance to wear a designer label without the huge investment. I think that most women have a wardrobe full of dresses they’ve only worn once or twice, so it really does make sense to hire instead.

Tell us about how you first discovered GlamCorner?

I discovered GlamCorner after searching for a specific dress online. The first time I hired, my event was actually cancelled and they were so understanding and helpful when I had to change my order. That gave me the confidence to hire from them again.

How was you overall experience with GC (online and offline) and would you recommend us to other women?

My experience has been fantastic. The dress was so easy to order online, it arrived beautifully packaged and in perfect condition, and it was so easy to send back. I’d definitely recommend hiring to my friends, I think it’s a fantastic idea!
