The Races don’t just happen during Spring! Though the Spring Racing Carnival is a popular series of events that happens over the span of a couple of months during the Spring season, racing events are happening all over Australia throughout the year! This means many an opportunity to dress up in your finest fashions for the field. Our lovely Townsville based customer Margot shares her experience of hiring our Thurley ‘Bed of Roses Lace Dress’ in green, paired with our Morgan & Taylor ‘Dana Fascinator‘ for her day at the Townsville Cup Races.
Tell us about the special occasion you had and why you wanted to wear a designer dress for it?
The occasion was the Townsville Cup Races. I wanted to dress in something special for the occasion while still keeping it affordable. Hiring a dress worked out so well as I got the chance to wear an incredible Thurley dress and a beautiful fascinator with out the hassle of shopping around and breaking my budget. Also beautiful designer dresses are harder to come by in Townsville so by hiring online you feel spoilt for choice!
What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?
Being so busy means I often leave things to the last minute, including finding an outfit for the races. Renting a dress with a few clicks online a week before my event couldn’t have been any easier. It also made me so much more excited for the event knowing I had an amazing new dress arriving in the mail.
Tell us about the dress and the designer label you chose, and why you chose it?
The Thurley ‘Bed of Roses Lace Dress’ is the most beautiful stand out shade of green and flattering design. It is one of those dresses that you see straight away and know you have to try it on. It’s bright and fresh, perfect for a North Queensland event in the sunshine. All of Thurley’s designs seem to use the most amazing fabrics and the feel of the lace in this dress was so soft and comfortable to wear.
Have you rented a dress before or was this your first time?
This was my first ever rental and I can’t believe I haven’t done it sooner! I’d seen a few sites online but had always been a bit hesitant due to fears that it wouldn’t fit or wouldn’t look like the pictures. I made the decision to finally give it a go because I saw all the glowing reviews of Glam Corner and they had really specific sizing instructions, which put my mind at ease. The $15 back up dress option was also a really great advantage for me.

I was googling online dress hire online and came across the website. It looked very professional and had the best range of dresses out of all the sites I’d searched through. I love checking their instagram and blog now for fashion ideas.
