Tell us about the special occasion you had and why you wanted to wear a designer dress for it?
I wanted to wear a designer dress for my special occasion because it was my graduation ball. I studied medicine which is a 6 year degree and I wanted a really special dress to celebrate the occasion. I wanted to feel elegant and beautiful and I wanted to be able to wear a designer dress that I loved for a fraction of the retail price!
What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?
Having been a student for the past 6 years, I have not had the opportunity to earn much money. So renting a designer dress was the perfect opportunity for me to be able to wear a gorgeous dress, but not pay a fortune for it. It was also perfect because a statement dress is often unable to be re-worn and renting is the perfect solution to this.
Tell us about the dress and the designer label you chose, and why you chose it?
I chose the black Alexandria Gown by Elle Zeitoune. I first saw this dress in an Adelaide store and immediately loved it. I’m not a big fashion girl and I don’t tend to know designers, but I thought the dress was beautiful and suited my body shape. I tried it on in the store and felt amazing in it, so I knew this was the dress for me!
Have you rented a dress before or was this your first time?
I have rented a dress before, but not from GlamCorner. There is a store based in Adelaide that rents dresses and I hired a dress from them before for my 25th birthday party. On that occasion I also wanted a dress that would be special and feel amazing to wear, but I didn’t want to spend a fortune on purchasing a dress I would only wear once.
Tell us about how you first discovered GlamCorner?
As I said above, I found the Alexandria Gown in an Adelaide store that also rents dresses. In this store I was able to try on the dress, however it was not available for my desired date, and it was also quite expensive to hire and they required a cash bond of $100. However, I just couldn’t justify spending the full retail price on a dress I might only wear once. So I went online attempting to hunt down the dress from elsewhere, and that’s when I discovered GlamCorner. And to my utter delight the exact same dress was not only available for my date, it was almost half the price with no extra bond required! I was thrilled. After hiring the graduation ball gown, I trawled through the GlamCorner website, and found another gorgeous dress perfect for a wine tour I was attending in the same week, and hired that one as well! I paid less for both dresses then I would have for the one dress from the Adelaide store.
How was you overall experience with GC (online and offline) and would you recommend us to other women?
My overall experience was extremely positive and I would absolutely recommend GlamCorner to other women, in fact I have already! The website is incredibly easy to navigate and the hiring and payment process was very simple. It’s great having the discount codes every now and then for an added bonus. I instantly informed my friends who were also needing graduation dresses about GlamCorner. When the dresses arrived, they came a day earlier than I expected and were packaged in the most beautiful way, wrapped in tissue paper, inside a dress bag and placed on velvet lined coat hangers. All packaged inside a square cardboard box and crease free. The return process was also incredibly simple, I felt I must be missing something! You just placed the dress into the supplied return express post envelope and dropped it into an express post box anytime before 5pm on the last day of the order. Simple!
Thanks Caitlin! We’re so happy we were able to make the perfect designer dress hire possible for your Graduation Ball. You looked amazing! We look forward to seeing you again soon xoxo
