Beck Hume is a rising star in the modelling industry. At the mere age of 14, she has already been featured for magazines such as Oyster and Fashion Journal. Only a year into modelling, her unique looks and skills has got the attention of IMG Worldwide, who signed her on the spot. We spoke to Beck from our head office whilst she rushed home from school one afternoon.

GC: How did you first get involved with the modelling industry? Were you scouted? Tells us about that moment.

B: 2014 Adelaide Fashion Festival was where Stacey Hendrickson from AZALEA scouted me, while I was shopping with a friend. She ran after me and tapped me on the shoulder. I can’t believe its been a year already!

GC: Do you have a preference over runway or photoshoots? What is a memorable moment for you in front of the camera or on the catwalk?

B:I enjoy both photoshoots and runways. The thrill you get from the runways is nothing you will ever feel elsewhere. The photoshoots are great because you meet so many people and you know how much work has gone into those photos and you appreciate them so much.

GC: If you could be photographed in any location in the world, where would that be?

B: There is this quiet little beach in the Coorong in the Murray and it is just so nice at sunset.

GC: What does a normal day look like for you?

B: A normal day in my world is waking up early, getting ready for school, home work then having some downtime to myself. Sometimes there's a few photoshoots and things after school.

GC: How has modelling through an agency (Azalea) helped you to prepare for the industry?

B: Modelling through an agency to help me prepare for this industry has honestly been so amazing. Stacey is so supportive and down heart. She is the best manager I could ever ask for. We have modelling work shops that also allows me to interact with all the other girls in the agency. We act as a support team for one another and that's a wonderful thing to have.

GC: What kind of impact/statement would you like to make on the modelling industry?

B: I hope to one day inspire young girls to never give up and keep pursuing their dreams. An impact I would want to make on the industry is that everyone should be accepted for who they are because they can’t change it and everyone is beautiful in their own unique way.'
