About The Designer

In 1984, Thomas Meyer founded Desigual in El Raval, a neighbourhood in Barcelona, with the creation of a jacket that is now recognized as one of the first upcycled products in the fashion industry. The word "Desigual" was suggested by filmmaker Isabel Coixet, along with the motto "no es lo mismo" ("it's not the same"). The first Desigual logo, the Humans, which features a naked man and woman holding hands, was designed by Spanish graphic designer, illustrator, and sculptor, Peret.
